For category managers

Your range review shouldn't start with a spreadsheet

Category managers spend the first third of every review reconciling data that's already stale. Zenline replaces that process with a ranked assortment intelligence briefing — built on your actual POS, EDI, and distributor feeds, delivered before the meeting starts.

What Zenline replaces

Three things that eat your category team's week

Not strategic problems — operational friction that could be automated away.

Monday morning data reconciliation: matching distributor exports to your ERP, deduplicating SKUs, and filling gaps in POS data before the weekly review can begin.

Syndicated competitive data that arrives 4–6 weeks after the fact — so your assortment decisions are always based on what competitors were doing last quarter.

Buyer review presentations built on intuition rather than white-space evidence — because the competitive gap analysis that would justify your range proposal doesn't exist yet.

New workflow

From data feeds to ranked assortment actions in three steps

Connect once. Receive intelligence every week — before your next range review.

01

Connect your existing feeds

Zenline ingests POS exports, EDI 852/856 sell-through data, and distributor feeds via SFTP, S3, or API push. No data cleaning required on your end — incomplete or late exports are handled automatically.

02

Normalization and competitive mapping

The normalization layer reconciles SKU codes using EAN/GTIN lookup, fills timing gaps with interpolation, and merges contradictory signals. The competitive assortment picture is overlaid on your own range to expose white-space and sell-out divergence.

03

Your weekly assortment briefing

Each Monday, your category review starts with a ranked list of assortment actions — sorted by opportunity score, so the highest-value gap is always at the top. Delisting risks, white-space additions, and distribution gaps all in one view.

I've been a category director in grocery for eleven years. Every tool I've tried either requires clean data we'll never have, or gives you dashboards that look impressive and tell you nothing actionable. Zenline is the first one that takes our actual POS and EDI feeds — gaps, duplicates, and all — and produces a white-space analysis I can walk into a buyer review with.
